Silvia Juarez-Marazzo

Executive Director

Silvia Juarez-Marazzo, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker and nationally accredited psychoanalyst originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, with more than thirty-five years of experience in child development, parent–child psychotherapy, and trauma-informed care. Her work is grounded in relational perspectives and the belief that a child’s development is inseparable from the relationships and community that surround them.

Silvia is the Executive Director of Chances for Children-NY in the Bronx, where she leads programs providing evidence-informed dyadic and group therapeutic services to expectant parents and families with children from birth to five. She also serves as Adjunct Faculty at Brooklyn College (CUNY) and previously taught in the Early Relational Health Fellowship at UMass Chan, founded by Dr. Ed Tronick.

Silvia is the author and illustrator of several bilingual children’s stories (“cuentos”) that support immigrant mothers in sharing their migration stories with their children. Her work has been recognized internationally and she received the Jane C. Bourns Award for Excellence in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health from the Connecticut Infant Mental Health Association.
